Manual lymphatic drainage or how to naturally stimulate the lymphatic system, the body's cleansing factory. The massage acts on the circulation of lymph, a translucent liquid that flows through vessels throughout the body, carrying toxins, cellular waste and other undesirable elements to the lymph nodes, the true purification and filtration centers.

The Vodder method of drainage is performed with the fingers and palms of the hands all over the body, following the direction of lymphatic circulation and varying the pressure, with the aim of stimulating the lymphatic vessels and encouraging them to evacuate more lymphatic fluid.

It is also used as a therapeutic treatment with or without pressure bandages to treat various types of edema. Edema is tissue swelling due to an increase in interstitial fluid (water).

General contraindications: Acute infection, tuberculosis, recent thrombosis, cardiac edema, renal failure (uncompensated), organ transplant (to be discussed with your therapist).
